Last Summer and Fall Craig and I had the pleasure of attending several Botanical Beverage classes at Stone Barns Center. Visiting the farm and its surrounding fill me with such pleasure. The classes were no exception. Earlier this year Maggie Nolin, Philanthropy Operations Manager contacted me with regard to the creation of the 2016 Botanical Beverage Program. Some of the images I took during last July’s class in the dooryard garden are featured on this years flyer. I am honored to see my work featured and cannot wait to attend more classes this year.

Back in January something very serendipitous happened.  My friend Vera and I went to an art opening at Watercooler, an incredible shared working space, in the heart of our vibrant village of Tarrytown.  Owner, Jenifer Ross reminded Vera that she had the gallery space booked for the months of April and May.  After the initial panic of remembering that she had agreed to that many months prior, she starting talking about the prospect of an art show featuring her work and was concerned that with time limitations she would not have enough work ready to occupy all of the space.  The light bulb moment occurred when Jen suggested she share the space with another artist.  So, long story cut a little short our joint art show was born!

The planning process was a lot of fun.  When Vera and I met to discuss the work we were going to show we were blown away by how much our art complimented each others work.   Vera’s botanical monoprints cohered particularly well with my floral photographs.  We could not wait until April 1st when we could start the set up.  I had been nervous in the buildup to the BIG DAY!  However I had no reason to worry, the whole thing came together so well and we were the left to count down the days to our Art Reception evening several nights later.

Despite a dreary, wet and windy evening the number of guests was incredible.  Vera and I were so thrilled to such a wonderful turnout.  The feedback we both received from our guests was heartwarming and incredibly confidence boosting.  I was so caught up chatting to people all evening that my camera stayed tucked away for the entire night!  So, sadly I have only a couple of iphone photos to document the event.
