I remember this shoot so well, just like Summer ended a week or so ago. The August evening light is exquisite and so I was thrilled when the V family wanted their family shoot to take place on The Riverwalk in Tarrytown. Both mom and dad grew up in Tarrytown and so it seemed fitting that their shoot was here and the river was the perfect backdrop. Little Sammy was fun to get to know and was a good sport about trying to keep his finger splint out of the shots as much as possible. He is such a handsome, photogenic little man. I loved his many facial expressions from serious to full out belly laughter, we captured it all.

Thank you so much V family for allowing me to capture these memories for you – “The Summer before Sammy started Kindergarten”.

I am really loving going through my archived sessions from last Summer and Fall for blogging purposes. I always like to hold back on blogging during the months running up to the Holidays, so that gifts and Holiday cards are kept a secret from family members.

This session was fun and energetic. The children were delightful and each of them have such different personalities. Big brother is the serious thinker in the family. Sister is cute and a little fashionista! Baby brother is such a a sweetheart and a snuggle bunny.

I hadn’t met this family before, but have since had the pleasure of spending time with them on a social level. I love our small town – I end up seeing my clients outside of the “work place” It is fun to see children after their photo session with me. I get the look “where is your camera?”, like it should be attached to me ALL of the time!

I am looking forward to seeing this adorable family again very soon.

I have been photographing the D family for several years and always look forward to their Fall session.  It always takes place at their beautiful Victorian home.  The wrap around porch is such a fabulous backdrop, as well as a perfect reflector!  Last Falls photo session it was especially important to mom and dad to be in some of the images with the children. Mom’s words were – “we need to show the family that we are alive and kicking in our Holiday card”. Back in the summer mom had donated one of her kidneys to dad as his were not functioning well. Thrilled to say that they both made an amazingly fast recovery.  They were back on their feet in no time at all.  The wonders of modern medical advances!

Here are just a few of my favorite shots from the session.

I was over the moon excited when I heard the news that the family is going to soon become a family of five. Baby brother is due at the beginning of June. I cannot wait to meet the little guy. Congratulations to the D family. I am beyond happy for you all.
