I felt a little like Postman Pat today, only no black and white cat in tow, a black and tan Rottweiler kept me company instead! I had several client orders to package up and deliver around town this afternoon. I love that I still get such a thrill from distributing the finished product to my clients. It makes me feel so satisfied when actual, tangible items are ordered by my clients rather than digital files. Call me old fashioned, but I do worry that ultimately the images on USB flash drives and DVDs are tucked away and forgotten about. There is nothing better than a framed image or photo album filled with images to look back on and enjoy over time.

My other deliveries may not have been seen by their recipients yet, so I do not want to spoil the surprise. More images of REAL printed images coming soon!

A little “Throw Back” post today. I just discovered this storyboard and the beginnings of a post from two years ago in my draft folder! Not sure what happened, but figured these two brothers are too cute to stay in my drafts!

This session was so much fun. I hadn’t worked with the family before but the boys warmed up to me fast and were so great in front of the camera. The brotherly bond they have is so adorable and is evident in these images.

Looking back at this session made me realize that we preserved the “soon to be forever changed” landscape. A week or two after this the cranes started to be put into position for the pile driving for the new bridge!

Thanks for the little trip down memory lane today.

Following on from yesterdays maternity session on the blog here is the little guys first photo session. Once again mommy had her hair and makeup beautifully styled by the incredibly skilled and wonderful Anabelle LaGuardia.

Baby Lyle was an absolute rockstar throughout his first photo session.  It was a pleasure to spend the morning with him and his proud parents, who have taken to their new role so seamlessly.  Relaxed, calm parents make for the most amazing sessions.  This was no exception.

I was able to incorporate many personal items into the session, which I always love to do.  We used a beautiful homemade blanket gifted to them for baby Lyle, a toy that had been Mommy’s and her sister when they were babies and then the last element we captured was the friendly rivalry when it comes to baseball teams!

I am so thrilled that this cute little guy lives in the neighborhood.  I look forward to watching him grow.

I was thrilled to be contacted via the Facebook page 10591. I live in the most amazing community and the power of social media enabled Michelle and I to connect. I feel so fortunate to have been given the opportunity to work with Michelle just prior to the arrival of her first baby. Little did we know he would arrive sooner than expected. In hindsight we were lucky to have had the time to schedule this breathtakingly beautiful maternity session. Michelle was positively glowing and so radiant.

Prior to her session with me she had engaged the services of Anabelle LaGuardia, a fabulously talented local hair and makeup artist. I recommend any client to take the time to have your hair and makeup done by a professional prior to your next photo session. Michelle looked incredible throughout her session and not a hair out of place even after several clothing changes.

Look out for Baby Lyle’s newborn session on the blog soon.

It was an absolute pleasure to photograph this beautiful family last week in one of my favorite locations. Finally the weather is warming up enough to venture down to the Riverwalk for photo sessions again. It has been a long hiatus due to the snowy, chilly winter. As much as I loved being outdoors and enjoying Mother Nature this winter not too many clients opted for outdoor sessions! It feels wonderful to be consistently outside again. Spring in the Hudson Valley is absolutely breathtaking.

Time is flying by and before you know it the school year will be coming to a close.  College essays are flying off printers all over town.  Stop and take a moment to make some memories before its too late!

Sarah and I had a fabulous time at her Senior session.  So thrilled that I had the opportunity to work with her.  The images we captured will be treasured for years to come.

Good luck in your Senior year, Sarah.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE photographing teenagers.

This group of Juniors (now Seniors) were an absolute delight to work with. We were dealt with lemon weather on the evening of their pre prom celebration. However we created lemonade, thanks in part to the beautiful deck overlooking the Hudson (yes, through the rain clouds the Hudson River was hiding).

This group of friends looked stunning in their formal attire and were natural in front of the camera.

Wishing you all good luck as you embark on your Senior year at Hackley.

I met big sister V at her nursery school photo day and was delighted when I had the opportunity to photograph the rest of her family, especially her adorable new baby sister. V was incredibly nuturing in her new role as Big Sister.

This adorable family were the recipients of a gift certificate from a very grateful family. It was a pleasure to work with them and to meet their charming little girls. A fun, albeit chilly morning down by the Hudson River.

For the second year in a row I have been the official school photographer for Children’s Garden Center Nursery School in Tarrytown. This year I enjoyed seeing some familiar faces and meeting new ones too. I loved how many of the returning students remembered me and took it upon themselves to introduce me to their new classmates. Such an incredible group of students and Cathy and her team of dedicated teachers are so warm and welcoming. It is a joy to work there. I am looking forward to returning in the Spring to do it all again.
