What better way to celebrate the arrival of this gorgeous Spring weather we have been waiting for than with an outdoor family photo session.

I am offering two options for Spring Sessions this year.

A perfect Mother’s Day gift for that special Mom in your life. I’ll even gift wrap it for you! Doesn’t get any easier than that.

I like to hold off on blogging my Fall Sessions until the new year as the majority of my clients use the images for their Holiday card and so I do not want to spoil the “unveil”.  I think I am safe to share away now!

I held several dates for mini sessions during the Fall as well as many regular sessions.  I met some new families and worked with many existing clients.

If you would like a family photo session this year keep a look out for news on Winter and Spring Mini Sessions.

I love taking time at the beginning of each new year to look back and reflect on the fabulous photography sessions I had during the previous year. Putting together a slideshow to showcase some of my favorite images is such a great opportunity for me to reminisce on those special moments I shared with my clients and their families.
I am constantly reminded how lucky I am to do what I love and of the trust my clients have in me by allowing my camera and I to document special times in their lives.

Five years ago in NYC I met #TheGs and their proud new parents. Fast forward to this Fall and The Gs became big brother and sister to #APA, the most precious little brother. I have seen the Gs grow from tiny preemie newborns to energetic, adorable five year olds. They have taken to the roles of big brother and sister incredibly well. It was a joy to spend time with this family of five (six, including the star of the show, Syke the Yorkshire Terrier)

I felt a little like Postman Pat today, only no black and white cat in tow, a black and tan Rottweiler kept me company instead! I had several client orders to package up and deliver around town this afternoon. I love that I still get such a thrill from distributing the finished product to my clients. It makes me feel so satisfied when actual, tangible items are ordered by my clients rather than digital files. Call me old fashioned, but I do worry that ultimately the images on USB flash drives and DVDs are tucked away and forgotten about. There is nothing better than a framed image or photo album filled with images to look back on and enjoy over time.

My other deliveries may not have been seen by their recipients yet, so I do not want to spoil the surprise. More images of REAL printed images coming soon!

I am thrilled to announce that I will be offering Cape Cod Family Photo Sessions again this year. I had so much fun with the families I worked with last year and their feedback was so encouraging that I cannot wait to capture your family having fun on vacation in Cape Cod this summer.

I am currently offering sessions on Monday 24th – Thursday 27th August and Sunday 30th August – Saturday 4th September 2015.

Prints and other products are available for purchase.

A little “Throw Back” post today. I just discovered this storyboard and the beginnings of a post from two years ago in my draft folder! Not sure what happened, but figured these two brothers are too cute to stay in my drafts!

This session was so much fun. I hadn’t worked with the family before but the boys warmed up to me fast and were so great in front of the camera. The brotherly bond they have is so adorable and is evident in these images.

Looking back at this session made me realize that we preserved the “soon to be forever changed” landscape. A week or two after this the cranes started to be put into position for the pile driving for the new bridge!

Thanks for the little trip down memory lane today.

It was an absolute pleasure to photograph this beautiful family last week in one of my favorite locations. Finally the weather is warming up enough to venture down to the Riverwalk for photo sessions again. It has been a long hiatus due to the snowy, chilly winter. As much as I loved being outdoors and enjoying Mother Nature this winter not too many clients opted for outdoor sessions! It feels wonderful to be consistently outside again. Spring in the Hudson Valley is absolutely breathtaking.

2014 was the best year yet for Debbie Allan Photography.  I have enjoyed looking back on the images I captured throughout the year.  It is impossible to narrow it down to pick just one favorite image.  I have put together a slideshow of some of my favorites, which I hope you will enjoy.

Highlights of the year include photographing two weddings, both of which held great sentimental value for me.  I also loved the beach sessions in Cape Cod in August, and hope to schedule more of those for this coming summer.  I tested the water in the Senior photography market and loved getting my feet wet.  I hope to photograph more local Seniors this Winter – look out for  special promotion relating to that very soon.

I met several new babies during the course of the year.  Each of them born to families I had previously worked with.  I ended the year working very close to home – my next door neighbors were my last clients on 2014!

I am excited for 2015.  I have plans in the works for some new and fresh ideas for Debbie Allan Photography and look forward to sharing them with you.See more at Sleeklens’ actions

I always love when a family has the opportunity to incorporate grandparents into their family photo session. Good timing allowed this to happen for this lucky Sleepy Hollow family. It was wonderful to see the strong relationship the children have with their grandparents and having the chance to create these precious memories for them to treasure for years to come makes my job seem so much more meaningful.

It was a beautiful summer evening and so heading to the river seemed like the perfect choice. The children had fun showing off their “aerial skills” at the end of the session and it completely made my day to hear an 8 year old boy express his disappointment that the session was over. It was so much fun!
